“Excuse me, but fuck awards!” says Forbes, who plays the very evil but deliciously sexy Maryann Forrester in the hit vampire series, True Blood.
“That’s not where the glory is. The glory is in the audience,” she adds. ”That’s who we tell the stories for. It’s not for, with all due respect, the critics and not for the awards shows, but for the audience.”
Season Two’s True Blood finale is on Sunday on HBO.
Forbes …admits she never had an interest in vampires or the supernatural before joining True Blood.
“She doesn’t have a duality, she has a quadruple-ality,” Forbes says with a laugh. “They came up with this character that is running around in evening dresses and playing in the dirt and she has mad domestic skills and a butler and then there’s dancing and the food. It’s been so much fun.”
Also fun? Getting to watch the real-life romance blossom between Sookie and Bill– Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.

At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2009 - Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer
“It really is a beautiful partnership to witness, and I don’t say that lightly,” Forbes says. “It’s not often “It’s not often that you meet two people so wholly suited for each other.”
That may be the sweetest characterization of the Anna and Stephen’s courtship that I’ve heard.

Bill and Sookie fans: I think you should get this “T” before it morphs into “Sookie and Eric.” It’s happening, like it or not.
TVSquad full interview with TB creator Alan Ball
TV Squad has a really informative interview with Alan Ball posted (see link). I’ve pulled some of the more, let’s say “informative,” quotes about the True Blood – Season 2 finale and a bit about Season 3 for True Blood’s creator to share with you here.
Andy seems to be immune to Maryann’s spells. Can you tell us why?
AB: I would say he’s been immune up until this point.
Andy Bellefluer at the base of "Di - meat- tree"
Whoa, wait a minute! Yikes. I hadn’t thought of that! I’m going to go with Andy not getting the bug eyes but instead Maryann imposing her will on him in some other fashion.
And Godric, is he really dead?
AB: He is really dead.
That is kind of a well, duh ! question though it leads Alan into the next statement which is intriguing.
A thousand years of flashbacks to be mined -
That was such a tender scene at the end of “I Will Rise Up” between Godric and Eric and Sookie.
AB: Yes, I loved that scene. However, Godric and Eric have a thousand years of flashback territory to be mined.
Godric - 1000 years ago
I would love more flashback scenes that go way, way back with any of the lead vampires.
People haven’t really been liking the Maryann storyline. What’s your reaction to that?
AB: I’m baffled because I think she’s a fantastic character and a fantastic actress. I also know a lot of people who really love her. I think people are impatient, you know what I mean? When her story pays off, it is really, really gratifying.
Will she be in season three?
AB: Maryann is not going to be in season three.AB: Eric was introduced sort of into the periphery of Bill and Sookie, and now Eric’s become a character in his own right.
And you couldn’t have picked a better punishment for Bill.
AB: Right, we came up with the worst possible punishment for Bill, which was having to make a vampire. Now, we have this crazy, formerly Christian, home-schooled, socially inept girl whose been turned into a vampire, which I think is a fantastic character.
(Sounds as if it is a pretty sure thing that Jessica will survive Season 2. Yay!)
AB: We’re going to meet a vampire in season three who’s not very protective at all. Those who’ve read the books will recognize the name — Franklin Mott.
Gah! I sort of don’t remember Franklin Mott and if I do, I thought he was a supe?!
Can you tell us anything about Season Three?
AB: Well, the book is out there, so I’m not giving anything away when I say that we’ll meet the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. And we’ll encounter werewolves for the first time in the flesh…I’m very excited about the character of Debbie Pelt. She’s bad news.
Debbie Pelt is the ex-girlfriend of a guy who’s helping Sookie try to find Bill, and she is just hard ass, white trash bitch on wheels. She’s so much fun…. But there are other great characters, too… some people are like, “Am I human? I always thought I was, but maybe I was wrong.” In one particular case, its like, “Yes, honey, you were wrong.”
Is that Sookie? Is she part faerie? Can you tell me that?
I can tell you that Sookie is not 100 percent human.
