As per SpoilerTV’s reasonable request, I can’t just cut and paste snippets of this story–a scoop they dug up themselves and shared–and then comment like is the norm. Instead I’ll share with you the big scoops and urge you to click the link in the first sentence for much more detail. I’m going to run through a chock full o’ information, spoiler-y rundown of new characters who will be appearing on True Blood for the first time in Season 3. They are a diverse, yummy, and sometimes scary-sounding bunch which include blood kin of (shape) shifter Sam Merlotte. Looks like Sam Trammell is getting another fun storyline for S-3. Yay!
Sam’s previously unknown ‘long- lost’ 10-plus years-younger brother is ‘Tommy Mickens,’ good-looking, with a scar on his face from ear to cheek, who works at a Tire Depot in Arkansas and whose family has a bad reputation for skipping out on their rent Particulars include ‘BACKSIDE NUDITY…SERIES REGULAR’ (Sounds like a great gig for an actor who has the abilities, of say, our favourite shifter, Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell).
‘[TALBOT] Male, 20s – 30s. This “intensely beautiful” male vampire has buff good looks’ ‘who is both acerbic and sarcastic in manner. Full of …’cheerful prattle, he shows Bill around a magnificent mansion where Bill has been “invited” to stay for a spell’…
‘STRONG RECURRING‘-is worth noting as you will be seeing him.. .Sounds like *SPOILER* Bill is a prisoner in a big, pretty place and (keep reading) ick, there’s bad stuff being done to him. Ick. (Ahead).
‘THIS ROLE FIRST APPEARS IN EPISODE 302‘– which means at the latest we will see Vampire Bill Compton in episode 2 of Season 3.
I’ll bet Vampire Bill is in episode 1 as well (maybe not till the very end). 
[JESUS VELASQUEZ] An attractive Latino orderly in his 20s to 30s….He’s feeding ‘Ruby Jean’ (don’t ya love some of these names?) at her care facility(?!). As good-natured as he is handsome, he takes his demented patient’s racist gibes in stride.’
Important: VERY STRONG RECURRING POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR NEXT SEASON (OMG!) THIS ROLE FIRST APPEARS IN EPISODE 302
[FRANKLIN MOTT] Male, 25-mid 40′s and sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy. This tall, dark and handsome vampire seems to have an immediate and torrid connection to Tara, whom he meets in the local bar. He later rushes to Tara’s aid when she faces down a couple of racist rednecks…VERY STRONG RECURRING. THIS ROLE FIRST APPEARS IN EPISODE 302
This is a pivotal role in Season 3 – Poor Tara is not going to go unscathed by this guy. Believe Alan Ball when he says ‘Franklin Mott’ is extremely bad news. O gawd, this may be worse!
‘[COOTER ]he and his biker thugs take turns stabbing Bill and feeding on him.’ [COOTER AKA "COOT"] In his 30s, menacing, the leader of the Fuck You Crew, he and his biker thugs take turns stabbing Bill and feeding on him. VERY STRONG RECURRING
When Jason looks at them however, he sees bulletholes in their heads. (Whoa!) That is going to be some trippy scene! (below)
[JEN AND MISSY] These impressive young women… both studying to become vets…spend the night Jason (Ryan Kwanten). Despite making out with each other and agreeing to a threesome, they grow annoyed when Jason is not into them.. they become ‘downright disturbed’ by his admission that when he looks at them, he sees bullet holes in their heads’… GUEST STAR ROLES.
This scene features boobie shots. (Yay)
[YVETTA] Eric’s (Alex Skaarsgard) new dancer at Fangtasia.
Female, 20′s, gorgeously hot Eastern European who speaks Czech. (w/ subtitles) and knows her way around a stripper pole. She and Eric have a sexual relationship./ POSSIBLE RECUR* Actress must be able to dance and be comfortable with nudity.
I think since there is no assurance they we see her again that she is not anyone serious to Eric (shocking, I know!).
[OLIVIA] This elderly woman in her 80s, who moves with the aid of a walker and also uses an oxygen tank, lives in a house in the middle of nowhere. She mistakes Bill for her son…GUEST STAR
[LOUIE] A biker thug with Coot’s F*ck You Crew, he gets high on V blood…
[BETTY] 40.-ish, Black.. lives in a rundown area of Arkansas. She is amazed that Sam is able to subdue her Pit Bull, and she tries to help him find the Mickens. [MARVIN] Betty’s 40-year old, Black-American husband who comes to the door and grumbles about the Mickens (openly, in front of Sam, rudely)
[JIMMY] Speed demon biker thug, he enjoys stabbing Bill with a knife and feeding on V blood.
This was coming (Bill’s getting tortured scene). I hadn’t realized how soon with AB/HBO though. It’s going to be bloody awful. Worse than in S1 when he burnt to a crisp in the bright sunlight trying to save Sookie from Rene, the Bon Temps serial killer.
[GUS] Another of Coot’s biker thugs, he gets crazy high on V blood.
Sounds like Jimmy’s (above) homie. Lovely pair, I’m sure. <eyeroll>

Seen in 1866, a lovely, very strong, brave, well-bred and well-spoken Southern woman, Caroline pulls a shotgun on the intruder into her house–clearly prepared to use it–till she realizes it’s her husband Bill (Stephen Moyer), whom she was sure had died in the War..
