True Blood – SPOILERS Round Up (1.31.10)

Spoilers from this week are rather small but, if you are keeping an eye on new character casting, yet another a significant shift in a an old familiar character, and more about Jason’s love life or a fresh video bit of real-life loves Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer (Sookie and Bill) this will be news for you.

True Blood – New Season 3 Spoilers

Q: Any new spoilers for season 3 of True Blood?
Ausiello: Carrie Preston hints that “something very unexpected is going to happen with her character Arlene… [She] might just be nervous enough about the supernatural characters around her that she will try to do something about it. I think she is going to try to figure out a way to protect herself. She gets very upset. She doesn’t think vampires should be around children.”

Not to jump on the “read the Sookie books vs. not,” bandwagon because it is darn crowded, but Carrie Preston’s comments fit with a radical turn her character takes in the book series. As much as I think Carrie Preston rocks as Arlene, her character is very much part of Merlotte’s tapestry and I’d be surprised if her role is expanded enough that beyond doing something stupid a time or two this season she won’t impact the show much.

Question: What’s Jason going to be up to on True Blood this season (aside from taking his shirt off, of course)?
Ausiello: “He finally discovers the long lost art of love,” reveals his portrayer, Ryan Kwanten. “Well, at least his version of. It gets him into more trouble that he expected. He’s also dealing with the fact that he committed a small crime in that he killed [Eggs].” What’s been his biggest acting challenge so far this season? “I start the season in bed with two girls,” he says. “Not that I couldn’t do it, but a challenge? Sure.”

True Blood – New Season 3 Casting Spoiler

True Blood - Dawn Olivieri (Janice Herveaux)

Dawn Olivieri has been just cast in the role of “Janice Herveaux” in Season 3 of True Blood. Dawn is a lead in the SyFy movie HYDRA, and she is the voice of Pepper Potts in the new Avengers animated series scheduled to air this fall (2010) on Disney XD.

According to casting calls Janice’s character is described as a ‘32-yr-old fit, tough as nails woman, in biker gear, into horoscopes and psychics who also happens to be Alcide’s protective older sister.’
