True Blood: Season 3 – Truebies & Newbies: Jason & Crystal (HBO)

True Blood star Ryan Kwanten who plays Jason Stackhouse introduces his new castmate Lindsay Pulsipher in this special.

Joe Manganiello is the newest star of True Blood, playing a werewolf Alcide Herveaux. Off-screen, Joe is a comic book fan, and takes us on a tour of his favorite place to get them, Los Angeles’ famous Golden Apple Comics.

Zap2it caught up with “True Blood’s” Sam Trammell (who plays shapeshifter, Sam Merlotte) at KTLA News Morning Show right after he revealed the secret of male nude scenes on the show. It’s called “the sock” and, well, we had to flesh it out with him. Pun intended.

It’s a double scoop of  True Blood manliness with both Joe Manganiello and Sam Trammell giving some face time to the media while we wait two whole weeks between True Blood episodes.

Joe discusses his life-long comic-book geekiness (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were his fave) and in general comes across as a gorgeous,  sweet 6’5″ guy.

I’m a bit more comfortable going all fan-girl on Sam Trammell who is a few years older than Joe, though no less charming. Sam is a really good sport as interviewer after interviewer wants to know more about “the sock.”

Sam gives really nothing away spoiler-wise other than to say that there is a big story arc for his character and that it will take him places that we’ve never seen (him) go before.

There is a very brief clip of a scene that follows where we left off with Sam–his younger brother broke into his safe, setting off the alarm, rousing Sam out of bed and then taking off (literally).

True Blood Early Season 4 Renewal: 2011

On January 5, 2010 Alan Ball spoke about the possibility of a fourth season of True Blood.  The news is now official: HBO announced on June 21 that True Blood would go into production on a 12 episode- season four in early 2011 with the new episodes premiering that summer –2011.  This is something to be jazzed about! I love that I can just relax and enjoy the show and not worry that it is going to be canceled–not that I’d considered it with this show. Nuh-uh.

The upcoming season will loosely follow the plot of the fourth Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries novel, Dead to the World. Wikipedia source

Alexander Skarsgård (Eric) and Stephen Moyer (Bill) rehearsed a scene  for the show on Friday (6.25) in L. A. They both stood up remarkably well in  bright sunshine!

Show creator Alan Ball is pictured directing the scene which for the life of me, I cannot make heads nor tails of as I cannot get beyond salivating over how great both men look.

The scene takes place with a cement truck …Eric looks to be wearing handcuffs…Bill shoves Eric out of the way…Cement is poured over a shallow grave?

The only fix I can get on this is that by the end of Season 3, Eric and Bill’s relationship with have morphed into something else.
