Episode Synopsis: TRUE BLOOD “Evil Is Going On” Season 3 Episode 12 (Season Finale) – Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) grapples with his conscience while plotting his perfect revenge against Russell (Denis O’Hare). Fed up with being “vampire crack,” Sookie (Anna Paquin) considers a new life without Bill (Stephen Moyer) – or any other vampire. Tara (Rutina Wesley) discovers some surprising news about Sam (Sam Trammell), whose rage resurfaces upon learning of Tommy’s (Marshall Allan) latest transgression. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) finds a new calling after warning Crystal’s (Lindsay Pulsipher) family about an impending drug raid. Plagued by visions, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) turns to Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) for help, and learns his boyfriend has more to offer than companionship. Hoyt (Jim Parrack) hopes for a future with Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), spurning Maxine’s (Dale Raoul) pleas to wed Summer (Melissa Rauch). Written by Alan Ball; directed by Anthony Hemingway
Or maybe I’d ask Kristen what it’s like having both a brand new husband (musician Abri van Straten) and an expanded role on one of the hottest television shows happen in the same year? A bit overwhelming or the best year ever or…?
Joe is a bit harder because I’ve only seen him in interviews and True Blood and feel I don’t “know” him very well. Maybe try to pry some info about season four True Blood in which he’ll be a full cast member?
What would you ask Kristen Bauer van Straten and Joe Manganiello?
Oh no! Just when I was thinkin’ that maybe just maybe Sam & Tara could work out their tortured souls together Sam decides to get all honest with Tara! Remember how the sort of level-headed Sookie reacted when she found out about Sam’s true nature? And now Tara , still trying to recover from Egg’s death and Franklin’s physical & sexual abuse…gah! No way will she be eating those pancakes (fried in bacon grease–yum!) if Sam blurts out the truth now.

OTOH, she took to Alcide pretty quickly and he’s way more scary-seeming when he shifts…
True Blood – Season 3 Episode 12- Evil is Going On

In a dream-like state, Sookie runs through the forest towards the light–then Bill leans over he , literally bringing darkness and “stealing” Sookie’s light.
My second favourite scene of True Blood Episode 11, “Fresh Blood.”
In the alone time Jessica and Hoyt share at Bill’s house after she saves him from Tommy in his pit bull form by ripping open her vein and feeding him, Hoyt listens as Jessica explains the realities of her true nature. Although momentarily taken aback by her confessing that she accidentally drained and killed a trucker, Hoyt accepts that Jessica simply cannot stomach Tru Blood and can only feed on humans. Without hesitation but with slight trepidation Hoyt offers his own blood to Jessica.

There may be caps from the finale here, too. Don’t know yet.

OfficialBuddyTV — July 30, 2009 — BuddyTV’s exclusive interview with Sam Trammell and Michelle Forbes of True Blood.
This video with True Blood’s “Jessica” (Deborah Ann Woll) and “Hoyt” (Jim Parrack) features the scene which Michelle Forbes alludes to in the EW interview she did with Deborah Ann Woll. It’s excellent.
A couple of Michelle’s comments about the meat tree (with real meat!) and Maryann’s fate.
“I’m a 30-year vegetarian..
so the role of Maryann has been a bit challenging – especially with the
lovely meat tree – Di-meat-tree, as he became known.”
(In answer to the request to talk about the tree.)
“It was filled with
real meat and reeked as the weeks wore on. There are bobcats and
coyotes roaming around that ranch where we shoot, so they had someone
sit by the tree with a gun at night to protect it.”
(In answer to how can Maryann be vanquished?)
“Once she believes (her) god is finally coming, that will be her vulnerability. Or shall I say her Achilles’ Heel. “
Click the link to get the full scoop. Michelle Forbes is always a great interview.I will miss her on the show.
Anyone else recall Michelle is her early years of acting–like in the sorta-cool episode of Star Trek:The Next Generation where she and Geordi became ghosts–were trapped “out of phase” with seemingly everyone else? Or maybe they are dead as this type of experience is supposed to be part of the Bajoran death (ritual(?)according to Ensign Ro Laren, last name acts as first, played by Michelle Forbes. A fan fave, the actress had been racking up a solid following–about to get her part in Star Trek :TNG beefed up, when Michelle quit the show.
I was so annoyed with her.
Have since caught her at most, maybe twice in her entire career elsewhere. I know she worked a lot too, being such a well-respected actress. Ever more often, she is asked to do cameos or a guest stint based on her standing with geeks.* It doesn’t hurt that she’s beautiful, either. The only places however that I’ve watched her over the years were the aforementioned Star Trek:The Next Generation (1 season) and Battlestar Galactica (on SciFi) as the unforgettable scary-awesome Admiral Helena Cain. She had both a story arc of several episodes and a television mini “Razor,” for BSG (she was the razor(!) on SciFi channel. Very memorable. /EDIT This may have been the worst paragraph I’ve ever cranked out at 4 a.m. Edited for myriad reasons. Apologies. *I like geeks. I am one.
In S2 of HBO’s True Blood, Michelle Forbes has had a featured and prominent role for much of the season as Mariann the maenad. She’s left an indelible impression in the True Blood universe, of an exuberant, deadly, sometimes wicked, orgy-lovin,’ ancient maenad who Michelle Forbes described thusly in her TVGuide interview (link above to full story):
“A maenad is also known as the raving one or the wild one. They’re
mythic creatures in Greek mythology who followed Dionysius and Bacchus
and revel in chaos and destruction. They drink wine, have sex and have
no boundaries. That excess is their quest for purity. As they sing
their praises to their god, they hope that he comes.”
If you cannot see what Michelle Forbe’s brought to HBO’s True Blood then you are not watching the show that Alan Ball is offering. Just being able have Michelle Forbes perform on the show brought an edge to Season 2, a menace and a seemingly wacko maenad, who in her own world, lived the way every one should. Seriously. The casting on this show overall is pretty damn good. I consider Michelle Forbes in that category.
She’s a freaking goddess in quite a large community of fans.
The orgies really got old and “bug-eyed freaks” got old.
I think the most irritating thing about “Maryann” was the orgies–in which she did not participate. Less naked, middle-aged dudes and more naked main characters for at least a season. Please.
After jump : Bill’s sire, Jessica–click it and it’s a hi-res poster from the scene above. (property of HBO)
